Announcing Cloudmersive Anti-Virus Scanning Protection for Freshdesk

We’re excited to announce that Freshdesk Anti-Virus Scanning Protection is now available for Cloudmersive Virus Scan API customers!

The Virus Scan API can now be configured to scan Freshdesk attachments for viruses and malware in real-time with no manual review required. For Advanced Virus Scan API customers, that coverage extends to include zero-day threat protection with Cloudmersive 360-Degree Content Verification.

Why helpdesk threat protection matters

Any entry point for file uploads (or other content) into an enterprise network is a potential threat surface, and that certainly includes support ticketing systems.

Attackers frequently attempt to exploit enterprise support systems to deliver malware. It’s an effective way to disrupt a company’s operations - or, in extreme cases, hijack its network with escalated administrative privileges.

Real-time protection at the first point of contact in a support system is critical.

Real-time attachment scanning

With Anti-Virus Scanning Protection for Freshdesk, new attachments are scanned immediately after they’re added to Freshdesk tickets.

Scans occur in real-time and scale with fluctuations in request volume. Malicious attachments are blocked before they reach agents or end-users.

Powerful virus and malware detection

Under the hood, Cloudmersive’s core Virus Scan API engine uses several advanced techniques to uncover viruses and malware hidden within Freshdesk attachments.

This includes signature-based scanning (drawing from a continuously updated database of more than 17 million virus and malware signatures), AI-assisted multi-factor analysis, and threat pattern recognition with full file disassembly.

360-degree file format verification & content moderation

Cloudmersive customers leveraging the Advanced version of the Virus Scan API can expect 360-degree content verification for Freshdesk attachments in addition to baseline virus and malware detection.

With Advanced Virus Scan API protection, content within each Freshdesk attachment is analyzed to ensure it rigorously conforms with the structural expectations of its file extension. Invalid files, spoofed files (e.g., an executable with a .jpeg extension), and other dangerous content types such as macros, scripts, and unsafe archives are all flagged as threats.

Additionally, Advanced Virus Scan API customers can elect to use Cloudmersive AI Content Moderation to identify Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content (e.g., racy or pornographic images) in Freshdesk attachments.

As always, Cloudmersive customers can choose from a variety of flexible deployment models to suit the needs of their enterprise.

Anti-Virus Scanning Protection for Freshdesk can be deployed in the following models:

  • Managed Instance deployments leverage dedicated, managed infrastructure with SLAs, customizable deployment, and security.
  • Private Cloud deployments can take place on the customer’s premises or in a cloud platform of their choice.
  • Public Cloud deployments leverage Cloudmersive’s multi-tenant public cloud offering.
  • PaaS deployments take advantage of Azure App Service or Azure Kubernetes Service offerings.
  • Government Cloud deployments take place in a specified government cloud region, suiting the data governance requirements of government entities.
