| Using Okta with Entra ID to Sign in with Microsoft into Cloudmersive |
| 8/3/2026 - Cloudmersive Support |
Cloudmersive supports Sign in with Microsoft, which authenticates users through Microsoft
Entra ID. If your organization uses Okta as its identity provider, you can federate Okta with
Entra ID so that your users still click Sign in with Microsoft on Cloudmersive, but the actual
authentication is handled by Okta.
When a user clicks Sign in with Microsoft on the Cloudmersive login page, Microsoft Entra ID
recognizes the federated domain and redirects the user to Okta to authenticate. After a
successful Okta sign-in, the user is returned to Cloudmersive and signed in.
Prerequisites
- A Microsoft Entra ID tenant for your organization.
- Okta administrator access.
- The Okta integration for Microsoft Entra ID / Office 365 configured, with federation enabled
and your users provisioned into Entra ID. Okta provides this as a built-in integration; see
Okta's documentation for Office 365 and Entra ID federation.
Setup Steps
- In the Okta Admin Console, add and configure the Microsoft Office 365 / Entra ID integration
for your domain, enabling federated sign-in and user provisioning so each user exists in
Entra ID with their work email address.
- Confirm your domain shows as federated in Entra ID and that a test user can sign in to a
Microsoft service (for example portal.office.com) and gets redirected to Okta to
authenticate.
- Go to the Cloudmersive Management Portal login page at https://portal.cloudmersive.com and
click Sign in with Microsoft.
- Enter your work email address at the Microsoft prompt. Because your domain is federated,
Microsoft redirects you to your Okta sign-in page.
- Authenticate with Okta (including any MFA your Okta policies require). You are returned to
Cloudmersive and signed in.
On first sign-in, the Microsoft identity is matched to your Cloudmersive account by email
address. If your organization does not have Cloudmersive accounts yet, the first sign-in can
create one.
Optional: Require Microsoft Sign-in
Organization administrators can require that all members of the organization sign in with
Microsoft SSO, which blocks password-based sign-in for organizational assets. Contact
Cloudmersive Support to enable this requirement for your organization.
